Watering Your Lawn

Watering your lawn is essential for its survival. Achieve a drought tolerant lawn with a deep route system by watering for longer periods of time.

Depending on the time of year you lay your lawn establishment time can vary from 2-3 to 5-6 weeks. If sub surface irrigation has been installed you must water from above until the lawn has established. You will know when the lawn has established by gently pulling back one corner, when you can no longer lift off the ground your lawn has set root and is established.

Less frequent longer watering is recommended for fully established lawns. This encourages a deeper and stronger root system which is better equipped to handle the hot dry periods. Watering should take place either early morning or early evening to avoid wasting water due to evaporation. Watering routines may need to be adjusted during to extreme weather conditions.
